נבט
The verb נבט (nabat), means to look or regard. This verb covers everything from a mere glance (1 Samuel 17:42), to regarding (1 Samuel 16:7) to considering (Isaiah 22:8), to careful contemplation (Isaiah 5:12).
This verb has only one derivation: the masculine noun מבט (mabbat), meaning expectation, or literally: a thing looked to (Isaiah 20:6, Zechariah 9:5).
