שלף
The verb שלף (shalap) means to draw out, and specifically to draw a sandal of a foot (Ruth 4:7) or a sword out of its sheath (Judges 8:20) or slightly more grim: from a wound (Judges 3:22).
In Psalm 129:6 the verb is even used to describe blades of grass emerging on the roof of a house.
Our verb occurs twenty-four times in the Bible and has no derivatives.
